Tech on the Go: Ethics in Web Development

Type of course: Technology skills

Term of the activity:  47 minute course

Name of sponsoring organization: Morten Rand-Hendriksen Senior Staff Instructor, Speaker, Web Designer, and Software Developer

Details of the activity (e.g., where, when): Online, 10/7/2023

What you learned?  I learned that there’s more to web design, it requires planning, content creation, marketing, development, testing, publication, user experience, and design. In web development, you hold valuable information and once hackers breach your site, people’s information could be held against them and released to the public. Some websites would use your power and computing resource and bandwidth to run crypto miners and the site would make money through you. Clear communication is key, it’s part of ethics is to find out what causes the ethics articulating issues in way for people to understand.

How the activity relates to coursework or your career goals:

It relates to my career goals as I want to become more familiar with technology, I need to learn as much as I can starting with ethics in web development. To see what is required and to addon to my skillset in the near future to learn more about web development. With my career goal, I’m willing to learn outside my major and web development is a good skill to have onto my careers. In my future goals, I plan on developing my own website to learn more
