Technology Consultant Intern- Customer Engagement Team

  1. Technology Consultant Intern- Customer Engagement Team; RSM US LLP
  2. I worked on the Innovation Summit Project. The platform I used was called Microsoft Power Apps. Using this I built the framework for the Innovation Summit project in which I created 5 entities, various forms and views. The Innovation Summit is held twice a year at RSM, under the CE team. The purpose of this is for clients, RSM employees, and non-RSM employees to be able to register for different sessions including topics under Life Sciences, Non-Profit, Manufacturing Distributions, etc. I created 5 entities including Event Sessions, Primary Product/Industry, Date/ Time, Event Session Speakers, and Time slots. Through this framework, clients can choose specific sessions they are interested in which is grouped by the Time slot (to view the timing these sessions are held). If they are interested in a certain product/industry, they can click the drop down to view the industries available. I also included sub grids at the bottom of each event session form, which shows the Speaker names and related products mentioned during that session. Each entity has a form- so for example, the event session form included the Event Name, the time of the session, the primary product/ industry, a meeting link, and the session description. Clients/ users can also view information on the speakers by clicking into the sub grid. The information provided on the speaker included their Name, LinkedIn profile, Profile picture, title (associate, manager, etc), and the office in which they work. This framework I built was then moved into the production solution and into a portal,(website), where clients can access this information. I also edited previously recorded videos, for the Innovation Summit. I used a platform called Camtasia, to edit the videos. I edited 27 videos in which I added an introduction with the Event Session name and I went through each video to edit out any long pauses, breaks, names, and distracting noises. I also worked closely with someone on my team to organize slide decks.
  3. Innovation Summit- I learned how to use power apps, and do work on the back end, and then test it on the front end. This gave me a better idea on how clients will use what we build for them. This is to ensure everything is straight forward, easy to use and efficient. Switching between the back to front end was an important thing I learned during my internship, because we want to make sure that our clients are satisfied with the framework we build for them. I also learned how to edit videos, which is an interesting and unique skill to have. Communication was an important skill used, to ensure everyone on the team is on track with what we are working on.
  4. This internship related to my MIS courses. There was a heavy MIS presence. In the MIS data analytics course, we learned about entities and different relationships (one to one, one to many, etc.). I was able to see this come into action when creating the entities on power apps, and using different relationships between entities. We learned about parent and child functions, which i was able to see in action during my internship. I was also exposed to some Java script during my internship, when creating work flows. The MIS Web application course, helped me to understand the Java script I was exposed to- including loops, basic functions, and HTML.
