AIS MENTORSHIP PROGRAM
Fall 2018
As soon as I heard there was a mentorship program being implemented in AIS, I knew I had to join and I am very glad that I did! I was paired with an upperclassman named Michelle Purnama who I did not know before joining the program. Now we are really close and are even heading to Connecticut this summer for IT internships at Alexion Pharmaceuticals, Inc. together! Michelle has introduced me to fellow AIS members whom I did not know before, as well as helped me through many frustrating times this semester. Although I was on the right track with AIS and the PRO points system, I did learn a lot about getting even more involved and networking. Thank you, AIS Mentorship Program!

After participating as a mentee in the AIS Mentorship Program last year, I knew that I would have to continue my participation and become a mentor. Fortunately, I was paired with not just one, but two amazing mentees! My two mentees, Oviya Soundararajan and Nina Ramen, have been so fun to get to know over the course of this semester! Since the beginning, they have been eager to learn more about getting involved in AIS and MIS as well as learning more about my past experiences in the program. We have had multiple meetings throughout this semester where I gave advice and answered any questions they had in order for them to succeed as best they can. Outside of the mandatory mentorship checkup meetings, all three of us also ventured into center city and enjoyed a day of getting food at Reading Terminal Market and just hanging out getting to know more about each other!
