Information Systems in Organizations
In this introductory course, we learned about the rapidly changing business world in which technology has a big part in. We learned about concepts such as enterprise systems and artificial intelligence which will be essential in the future years.
Data Analytics
Data analytics is a critical component in the technology world. We learned how to analyze, retrieve and store information into databases using SQL. Tableau was used to organize datasets in a uniform structure. As a project, we analyzed large amount of medical research data and used Tableau along with data visualization to present the data in a simple way.
Data-Centric Application Development
In this course, we learned how to create web-based applications using coding languages such as HTML, CSS and Javascript.
Digital Solutions Studio
User Experience was the big topic in Digital Solutions Studio. We learned how to identify affordances, signifiers, system image and more essential factors when designing a tool for better user experience. We were assigned a “poorly designed user experience” website and used our knowledge to recommend improvements to the site. We also designed our own website using WordPress with good user experience elements.
