Habitat For Humanity Build Day
On Saturday, June 15th, I participated in a Habitat For Humanity (HFH) Build Day. This workday took place in west Philly, and spent 6.5 hours clearing out the backyard of a foreclosed property that HFH was rebuilding. I assisted with pulling out tree stumps, cleaning up brush/leaves, and vacuuming the inside of the house. I learned that manual labor, especially in the heat of June, is brutal and tiring. It gave me a much greater appreciation for the effort required to build houses.
