Work Experience

Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia — Summer Internship 2016

For the summer of 2016, I worked at the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia in the Supervision, Regulation, and Credit (SRC) department as their Business Technology Services (BTS) Intern.  As their Business Technology Services Intern, I helped with supporting and developing information technology solutions for the bank.  I was also assigned to worked closely with a Business Analyst and helped her with some of the projects she was assigned.  My tasks included writing technical design documents, test scripts, and requirements.  Additionally, I was also in charge of building SharePoint sites and redesigning them to make them more accessible and easy to use for the bank employees.  I even presented a user training session with a number of bank employees to teach them how to use these sites.

From working this internship, I learned that a company’s organizational culture is a great driver for hard work.  The Fed has a very happy and energetic culture.  Every single employee is always walking around the halls with bright expressions.  One the days where I would be stressed out from work, my mood would immediately change the moment someone greeted me with a big smile.  It is important to work around others with a positive energy because it encourages you to do the same and work hard.

Hollister Co. — Bensalem, PA (Sept 2011 — Sept 2015)

I was previously an employee at the retail store Hollister Co. in the Neshaminy Mall located in Bensalem, PA.  I started working during my senior year of high school and it has been four years since I’ve been with the company.  Because Hollister gets visits from many different customers daily, I was required to do a variety of jobs.  Some of my jobs included keeping the store’s presentation by neatly folding any unfolding clothing and ringing up customer purchases that can cost up to $1,000 or more.  Additionally, I was also required to interact with our customers to make sure they have the best shopping experience possible and to offer them any help they may need.  Working at Hollister has taught me the fundamentals of working for a business.
