Crayola IS Internship
Last summer I interned at Crayola in Easton, PA. Crayola is one of the world leaders in producing crayons and other art supplies. While interning at Crayola as a part of their IS department, my responsibilities included: helping support their online store and homepage, monitor on premise servers using Monitis, make changes to the online store with the use of Demandware and Eclipse, and contribute to the completion of a financial planning Sharepoint application. Additionally, I was invited to participate in weekly team meetings with the IS team as well as digital project meetings. In regards to MIS technologies, I was able to apply my ability to be resourceful when having to make changes in unfamiliar coding languages. Also, I used skills gained in my MIS classes to allow me be knowledgable and comfortable in an IS team setting. This experience taught me a lot about the inner workings of an IS department and how to apply what I’ve learned to provide value to the team.
