Trinity Insight

During the summer of 2018 I worked as an SEO Associate intern, at the digital marketing company, Trinity Insight. During my time there I learned the ins and outs of basic search engine optimization, and was introduced to some of the many tools used to analyze SEO.  I leanred how to use tools like SEM Rush and Ahrefs to do intensive keyword research. Additionally I used Google Analytics and Google Adwords to research trends and analyze search queries. I was also given a project where I had to create an SEO proposal for a client on how they could optimize their holiday shopping pages.

I also had the duty of managing content for client’s on their CMS platforms, primarily WordPress. While working with these clients I had to monitor the content they wanted to post, and make lists using excel to make sure that URLs for new blog posts were inline with optimized URLs. Additionally, made minor web design changes to page layouts through WordPress. I helped a client, who was going through a site migration, migrate their content from their previous website to their new one. Plus, I helped organize the URL redirects for the content pages so that they could mitigate search equity loss during that time.

Smokin’ Hot Solutions

Since December of 2017, I have been working as a web design and search engine optimization intern. I have worked on a wide range of projects during my time there, all of which have helped me improve as a business professional. I worked on web design projects for multiple clients ranging from website revamps and creating sites from scratch. Most of the work I did was done through WordPress which I have become extremely comfortable using. I have found it to be a great content management system and have learned the ins and outs of the software. I have also helped develop project proposals for clients. for either marketing services, consulting, or web design.

During this internship, I have been able to apply the coding skills that I have developed through my MIS coursework. This internship has definitely made an impact on what I want to pursue in my professional career. I truly enjoy doing web design and want to continue to do it throughout my career. This position has helped me improve as a professional by teaching me soft skills like networking and building trust among coworkers and clients. I have also learned the importance of time management and multitasking. When I have had to juggle multiple web design projects I would have to make sure to balance my time spent with the sites. It was incredibly important for me to say organized as well, and to make sure that I had my work planned out in some fashion.

Lavner Camps & Programs

From 2014 to 2017 I worked as a lead technology instructor, camp director, and technology assistant at Lavner Camps. While there I solved software issues, server problems, and taught children, ages 6-14, Java, Minecraft, video game design, and robotics. During that time I learned the importance of strategy, and how to layout plans to make sure the day goes smoothly, as well as hitting deadlines on time.

As a lead technology instructor, I developed a system for helping campers log into different applications that prevented them from having password lockout problems and being unable to participate in camp activities. Furthermore, I resolved Minecraft server issues ranging from problems such as broken connectivity with the internet, or excessive lag. The ability I am most thankful for developing at my time at Lavner Camps is my organizational skills.

While working as the camp director I had to keep an eye on all the other camps, and make sure they were where they needed to be in terms of following the camp curriculum. I kept the camp organized by having instructors keep me updated on how they progressed throughout the day, and occasionally came to their rooms to see how the campers were fairing. I then documented their progress just to make sure everything was organized, and well structured.

As a technology assistant, I was stationed at our main offices and handled various jobs and tasks for the camps technology department. I updated and installed new software onto over 700 devices used for the camps. I did the configuration and updating of our servers and trained staff for our Java and Minecraft camps.
