Internship at Center for the Advancement of Teaching
I worked as a data analyst intern at the Center for the Advancement of Teaching in summer 2017. My job was to collect the attendance from sheets and convert it into excel files. Using the excel files analyze in the tableau and find the attendance statistics. Sort the data into different schools and professor tracks. Also finding the guest visitors in the workshops 2016-2017. Compiling all the data for the annual report. To get the exact statistics I also used R and R Studio.
The Internship also included working with graphics and coming up with a visual representation of the data. The annual report is very important for the Center for the Advancement of Teaching because it helps them to get the funding from the Provost’s office. I recieved experience as a business analyst as well in the higher education environment.
Including the data analysis I also worked on the automated attendance system using the card swipes to record the attendance in the database. I worked in asp.net and javascript bootstrap. The system is able to retrieve information from the database using the Ldap. The attendance system is in beta testing and it will be implemented in the spring of 2018.
