ReminderMedia
I have completed 120 hours of work in the Business Intelligence Department at ReminderMedia this past winter. ReminderMedia is located in King of Prussia, PA and is the publisher of American Lifestyle magazine. My duties included:
• Identifying business opportunities and ways to increase efficiency in the organization
• Leverage data to improve the quality of sales data through various methods of intelligence gathering
• Develop data-driven analyses
• Identify, prioritize, and track quality issues
• Communicate plans and progress with management through daily meetings and throughout the work day
• Lead or participate in other projects or assigned duties
I worked on 3 main projects during my time:
• Merrill Lynch
o The goal was to find an efficient way to input mass amounts of data into ReminderMedia’s customized CRM. Financial Advisors are some of ReminderMedia’s top customers and their information is very important and must be accurate.
• SAS
o The goal was to use SAS to try to “churn” the data to see who the best candidates for ReminderMedia to call as potential customers would be.
• Counties
o The goal was to breakdown the country into counties to see where most of ReminderMedia’s customers are, where ReminderMedia’s employees are, and according to performance, try to find weak pockets in customers and employees to either hire new people in those areas or target those areas for potential customers.
The programs I worked with included: Excel, SQL, RapidMiner, SAS, and Tableau and worked with 2 other interns under our manager, Karen Ruduski.
