Foundations of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging
The LinkedIn Learning course I took is called “The world of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB),” I learned a lot about how to navigate this really important and sometimes overwhelming space. The course covered everything from the basics of DEIB terminology to why it’s so crucial for businesses. She talked about practical strategies for promoting diversity, inclusion, and equity in the workplace, like addressing biases in hiring and fostering inclusive communication. One thing that really stuck with me was the emphasis on belonging and how it impacts everything. I also learned how to recognize and address microaggressions, and how to hold organizations accountable for their DEIB efforts. Overall, it was eye-opening to realize that everyone has a role to play in making our workplaces and communities more diverse, equitable, inclusive, and belonging for everyone.
