Internship at Subaru of America, Inc.

I have been a Marketing Intern at Subaru of America since June 2015.  I have a lot of responsibilities and it varies day-to-day.  However, some of my most common responsibilities include:

  • Analyzing retailers’ use of digital marketing platforms
  • Create web pages for the websites of individual retailers
  • Identifying unhappy customers on social media platforms using Radian 6 and promptly telling a manager.  That manager would contact retailer to tell them to mend relations with that customer.
  • Analyzing email and website metrics of various Subaru-sponsored events.
  • Create reports detailing the number of leads through Subaru’s website, retailer websites, and leads that were purchased.
  • Updating reports regularly including the Sales Inventory Analysis Report and Retailer Monthly Bonus Report

My position at Subaru has allowed me to integrate my coursework into the real world.  I have learned to manipulate and analyze data in my MIS classes and have been able to use those skills to create reports and understand the data for sales, inventory, and digital marketing at Subaru.  My MIS classes and my Cyberspace in Society course also gave me experience in creating websites which helped me in creating web pages for Subaru’s retailers.  Working for Subaru also allowed me to better understand and implement the marketing methods I have learned in my Marketing courses.  Overall, my position with Subaru has allowed me to see how my education at Temple can translate into a corporate setting.
