Deployment Summary
Last year I was on a deployment with the Pennsylvania Army National Guard as a unit Supply Sergeant. As the Unit Supply Sergeant, I was in charge of supply operations during my deployment for the Army National Guard. Some of my responsibilities were ordering supplies and equipment through the GCSS-Army (G-Army). GCSS-Army is a logistics and financial management system. Serving as the system of record for property accountability and finance. Using this interface, I updated the inventory, supply condition status, and analyzed supply chain data to identify trends and mission-critical shortages. This was crucial in my decision-making process to decide on what to order and what my unit didn’t need. I also used GCSS-Army to generate reports for my leadership on inventory status, budget, and supply forecasts for the unit. I analyzed the large volume of data to sustain mission and operational readiness.
