Data Analyst and Operations Intern

February 2021 – Present

Currently, I am a Data Analyst for TreeHouse Books, a small non-profit organization located in North Philadelphia. In this role I primarily focus on the creation of internal reports, focusing on gaining a deeper understanding of how the company is performing with donations and volunteers. Along with those responsibilities, I also maintained and kept up to date when it comes to Database management and upkeep. I updated, cleaned up, and created tables and records from three different databases and crossed referenced each one to make sure the company was operating at the most efficient level possible.

This internship gave me my first taste of what a job in MIS would entail, as not only did it allow me to get hands on experience with multiple different databases that companies often utilize but as well as understand the quality of reports that would be expected of me.

Volunteer

First Church in Ipswich

2013 – 2020

My tenure at the First Church in Ipswich was all volunteer community service work. While much of it was physical labor such as building houses and utilities around the country in places like Mississippi, Philadelphia and Staten Island, there was also more logistic aspects of it. This includes managing account balances, income statements and attendance rates for organizations like soup kitchens, thrift shops and food drives.

This position allowed me to learn how different organizations operate on a day to day level, as well as how to socialize with customers and people utilizing the amenities that are offered on a personal level.

Cook

Choate Bridge Pub

July 2019 – September 202

As a cook for the Choate Bridge Pub location in Ipswich, Massachusetts, I was tasked with the preparation of food for both grill and fry stations for a 60 seat pub.  While not working in a high speed environment, I also had the added responsibility of managing inventory and ordering necessary ingredients based on past trends and what the restaurant had already used.

This experience taught me many key skills that are useful in any work environment. The first and most important one is the importance of teamwork and being a team player, as without that skill the entire process of running the business falls apart and become inefficient.  The other one is to learn how to utilize stress to become more productive instead of rushing and creating a subpar product or being overwhelmed by it.
