Data Fundamentals Certificate by IBM
Completeting this certificate by IBM in May 2025, this has helped me gain a broader perspective and valuable skills that I would need in my position working as a data analyst and business analytics. In the module, I gained a solid introduction and deep dive into the fundatamental of data science field. Specifically, I learned how to design a database in order to prepare for analysis, how to create data pipelines to move unstrcutured data into modes that would allow for business interpretations, uses and ways to use programs such as SQL and IBM Watson in roder to query databases and manage large-scale pieces of data, and the different career paths that would be associated with data science such as a data analyst, data scientist, and a data engineer. Throughout the course, I was able to try out the programs within IBM Watson and submitted writing for answers about interpretations of data science throughout the coursework for this certificate program. In terms of my courses at Temple University, I was able to learn and apply a lot of skills in data cleaning, understanding how to frame the data taken for analysis, and management of data that I would learn within my Data and Analytics course, Econometric Analysis course, and Applied Statistics and Data Science course and just in general throughout my majors of Economics and Management Information Systems and my minor in Statistics and Data Science. In terms of my career goals, I would able to apply the knowledge and skills that I learned in fields within business analytics and in cleaning and analyzing data for business interpretation throughout any career path that I would explore in the future.
