Flow Artist Instructor.

211Flow Arts can be defined as the emerging movement-based art form that integrate dance and creative exploration of movement with skill-based prop manipulation. The Flow Arts draw from a multitude of ancient and modern movement disciplines from taichi and Maori poi spinning, to martial arts and juggling, to circus arts, hula hooping and modern fire dancing.

I grew an interest in hula hooping July 2013 while I was at Camp Bisco. I met many flow artists while I was at this music festival and had the opportunity of learning some of the manipulations. Since then, I’ve become obsessed with perfecting every move, including my “flow”. In my spare time, I reach out to the Temple community by instructing students at a group call “Temple Flow Arts” that meets every Tuesday.

Here are some videos of myself:

Cyclist.

556I recently started cycling spring 2013. At first I started with a hybrid bike (road & mountain), however it was very heavy and I noticed that I wasn’t getting as far as I wanted with each push of the pedal. So during September 2013, I switched out my hybrid for a road bike. Shortly after, I participated in my first ride which was the National MS Society: City to Shore ride completing 68 miles in a tandem! I was astonished, I was completely unaware that my body was capable of pedaling through the strenuous ride. I also participated in the Friedreich’s Ataxia Research Alliance: Ride Ataxia and completed 25 miles on my road bike. This upcoming spring to fall, I will continue to give back to the community and ride for the cure.
