Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get ahead in this class?
  • The best way to get ahead is by completing homework and readings ahead of time to gain a deep understanding of the concepts. Then apply that material and use critical thinking for our lectures, in-class activities, and other course content.
What resources do I need for this class?
  • We utilize many resources in this course. These include our Canvas site for assignments, MH Connect for course content and readings, your TU email for communication, and the Diamond Peer Corner for all other additional help resources.
I am having technical issues/downloading content for the homework.
  • If you are having technical issues, your best resource would be to utilize our TECH Center either at their website or by dropping in at the TECH Center at 1801 N 12th St.
    • TECH Center Hours: https://its.temple.edu/techlabs
Where do I go to get help on MH Connect?
  • Please contact McGraw Hill Higher Education Tech Support (HETS) if they have any technical issues so we have a documented Case Number to reference.
  • Phone: 1-800-331-5094
  • Live Chat/Email: https://mh.my.site.com/CXG/s/ContactUsLinks to an external site.
    • Hours of Operation (Eastern Time Zone USA)
      • Mon-Thu: 24 Hours
      • Fri: 12 AM-9 PM EST
      • Sat: 10 AM-8 PM EST
      • Sun: 12 PM-12 AM EST
What do I do if I miss class?
  • There is no penalty for missing class. Please keep in mind though that you are responsible for everything you miss. Make sure you review Canvas and complete the required assignments. Please be sure to connect with your classmates to catch-up on what you miss too (we do not have class captures/recordings).
  • ***Students who miss class due to Covid-19 quarantine protocols or extended health related issues must contact the instructor via email before the missed class/classes and will be provided an opportunity to catch-up on and complete work missed on a case by case basis. Please see the your sections “Course Requirements” tab’s “Attendance and Your Health” section for additional information and requirements.
  • When we do complete ICAs, you must be in class to complete them. You are able to miss up to three in-class activities (we drop the three lowest scores) and there are no make-ups offered. That’s why we built this in to the ICAs!
What are the best ways to study for Exams?
  • Complete the readings and adaptive learnings.
  • Review topics that gave you trouble on each assessment.
  • Come to class prepared, participate, and take great discussion notes.
  • Meet with your ITA
  • Complete Weekly Questions.
  • Visit your instructor during office hours with questions.

For any additional questions reach out to your ITA or visit your instructor during office hours.
