SAP S4/HANA Webinar
I attended this webinar through Salesforce. The webinar went to talk about the MuleSoft, SAP S4/HANA, and SIKA programs. The speakers went on first to talk about traditional SAP ERP approaches and how they implement point to point integration patterns and how ERP transformed the corporate “central nerve system” into a new one with high dependency and complexity. They then go into MuleSoft’s API-led methodology with making their processes reusable and robust through their layers. For instance, their experience layer helps consumer xp and makes it channel specific so that each channel contains required formats and methods. When talking about SIKA, the speaker talks about the ten biggest issues in IT, with some being supply chain disruptions, maturing the enterprise cloud strategy, and advancing data opportunities. The system hopes to combat these in the future, as it is still a newer system. A point that was emphasized through the webinar was how MuleSoft and API connectivity can act as a catalyst for digital innovation and transformation. I have been introduced to API’s through web application development and now, cloud architecture, but this shows another way that they are important in the technology industry and I hope to gain more of a knowledge of them through classes next semester.
