Mobile Cloud Computing

Mobile Cloud Computing

Brief Overview
Mobile Cloud Computing is essentially using both cloud computing and mobile computing to deliver applications to mobile devices. These applications are typically rich mobile applications, which are applications that assume the countless properties from rich web applications and highlight numerous explicit properties, e.g. context awareness and ubiquity. The goal of Mobile Cloud Computing is deploying rich mobile applications to a plethora of mobile devices, all with speed and flexibility. Two other strengths are shared resources and integrated data. The cloud does not constrain a mobile app that is running by a device’s storage and processing resources. The cloud allows for data-intensive processes. Regardless of where data resides, users can quickly and safely collect and integrate data from various sources through mobile cloud computing.

Relating to MIS3406
In MIS3406, we focused on cloud computing. Cloud computing is transferring data to a secure and remote location by using a network of servers hosted on the internet all through wireless connections. Cloud providers supply users with software, infrastructure, and platforms at a low cost and on demand. Mobile Cloud Computing provides mobile users with data storage and processing services in the cloud. This eliminates the needs for a powerful device configuration such as memory capacity and CPU speed. We’ve deployed RESTful API using Node.js and Instanced-Based Cloud Software in the course. With mobile cloud computing growing, developers will have to take into account different devices that users will be using to run applications.
