Summer Student Worker @ Pfizer

I had the opportunity to work at one of the world’s largest biopharmaceutical companies, Pfizer. This summer I was at Pfizer’s campus in Collegeville, PA. I worked under the department, Business Technology – Enterprise Solutions Center.

My overall role was to:

• Gathered and analyzed requirements
• Created InfoPath form to collect data
• Managed SharePoint site that acted as our main database
• Developed and designed dashboards using Tableau

What I’ve accomplished:

• BT ESC Portfolio Tracker – Create Tableau dashboards
• Quality Gate – Standardized documentation
• Innovation Challenge -Placed 2nd under the team, Pfizer Pfriends Pforever
• Get Old Day! – Organized the Social Media Booth
• Designed Pfizer brochures for job fairs

I learned what it’s like to work within the industry, the different departments, and how various technologies are used within the company.  The two courses that prepared me for my internship were MIS 3506 and MIS 0855. MIS 3506 is a class that walks through being a business analyst and producing a project requested by clients. MIS 0855 is a class about creating data visualizations using the software, Tableau.
