Job Experience

Futura_Mobility_(PRIMARY)_highres

Over this past summer, I had the opportunity to work as an Information Systems Intern at Futura Mobility, LLC.  Futura Mobility provides mobile technology solutions and support for organizations in various industries, such as healthcare and automotive.  At Futura Mobility, my responsibilities included:

  • Providing internal IT support within the company
  • Providing IT support to external users and customers remotely
  • Troubleshooting database backup and restoration errors
  • Setting up accounts, email, and laptops for newly hired employees
  • Assisted in the migration of around 200 employee email accounts from a physical server to an external cloud based platform

At Futura I gained a lot of hands on technical experience, as well as network support experience.  I enjoyed being able to help others through difficult issues, as well as working with a support team to solve problems.

I am currently employed part-time at Temple’s Computer Recycling Center, where we have a focus in sustainability and information technology asset recovery.  Most of the equipment goes on to be refurbished and reusedcrc by other departments at Temple, or ends up being disposed of in a sustainable manner.  My responsibilities here include anything from cleaning computer monitors, to imaging PC’s and Apple computers. On an average day, I am constantly working on either various projects throughout the Recycling Center, or smaller jobs that are just as necessary. While working, we are encouraged to find things to do on our own, which always has me thinking of better and easier ways to accomplish tasks.  For example, myself and two coworkers organized and consolidated around 100 computer monitors into a more efficient layout. At the Computer Recycling Center, I also take part in the delivery and retrieval of most of the equipment we bring in to refurbish or dispose of.  Working at the Computer Recycling Center has really taught me how important
