Learning Genesis for WordPress
Through the LinkedIn Learning course “Getting Started with Genesis,” I engaged in a series of instructional videos led by experienced educator Carrie Dils. Sponsored by LinkedIn Learning, the course provided a comprehensive overview of Genesis, a widely used theme framework for WordPress, enabling users of all skill levels to swiftly construct websites. By following Carrie’s guidance, I learned how to seamlessly install Genesis and configure fundamental settings, including layout selection and comment activation. Carrie delved into the intricacies of different homepage types, aiding in selecting the most suitable option for specific needs, while also exploring the functionality of popular widgets. Additionally, the course offered invaluable insights into advancing WordPress capabilities through search engine optimization (SEO), accelerated mobile pages (AMP), and various plugins for extending Genesis’s functionality. This learning journey not only equipped me with practical skills in utilizing the Genesis framework but also deepened my understanding of optimizing websites for enhanced performance and user experience.
