Hackathon
Participating in a hackathon hosted by TUDEV was one of the best experiences I’ve had at Temple. This competition gave me some insight as to what being a developer is really like. During this event, various companies came to present challenges to us in which we had the option to participate in. The challenge my team chose was developing an app that made a hackathon operate more efficiently. My job was to develop the front end of this app using React, which is a Javascript library used for developing interfaces.
My team and I made a check in system so that people could efficiently arrive to the hackathon and save some time to get right into developing. We also made pages to display information about the hackathon and the various companies that would be there. Along with these features, we created a scoring system to help the judges rate the projects in a smooth manor.
