DragonHacks 2019

  1. Drexel University
  2. Drexel University, Bossone Research Enterprise Center. April 20th, 2019
  3. At the Hackathon, I learned about several different solutions that are availible for businesses. For example, I learned that Dell has a iPaaS called Boomi, that I didn’t know existed. Next, the Hackathon reaffirmed my previous knowledge about programming: it’s not enough to simply know syntax. Coding requires a deeper understand of logic, meaning how the code works, and creativity, meaning how to utilize programming knowledge to solve problems.
  4. The Hackathon was focused around creating solutions using technology. For example, one of the challenges was to create a program that would provide better accessibility to some aspect of technology (like a webpage, for example) for people with disabilities. As MIS majors, we focus on utilizing technology to solve business (or other) problems. It’s not enough to know that a technology exists, as MIS professionals, we need to determine whether or not a tecnology or program suits our needs, and how we can leverage technology to further the company’s goals.
