Opportunity Knocks: What Employers Want
The event hosted by The Main Line Chamber of Commerce began with a panel discussion featuring employers from multiple companies, one being USLI – United States Liability Insurance, based out of Wayne, PA. The employers talked about the importance of gaining experience through internships as a learning opportunity and to see what you like and don’t like. They highlighted the networking opportunities behind internships, and how building corporate contacts and relationships are just as valuable as the internship itself since they can last forever. After the panel discussion, students and employers were sent into breakout rooms to network and answer questions. I ask questions about the interview process and things like how to stick out and what are the best questions to ask.
