Work Experience

Savantis

Currently I am a functional intern at Savantis Group in Exton, Pa. At the beginning of the internship we were given the task of creating a new user interface using SAP Fiori screens for our customer. As the functional intern I was in charge of learning the customer’s business process and mapping out the process so that we could understand the customer’s needs. I then had to talk with the technical interns and plan the screens out and make sure that they would be simple and easy to use for our end user. I have learned so much about SAP and the way business is handled everyday. I am really enjoying putting the things I learned in school to use.

Through out high school and during my time off from school I am a waitress at The Classic Diner in Malvern, Pa. The restaurant has been a successful local business for 20 years now and is always very busy. I have learned many things through out my time working. I have learned how to create and maintain relationships with customers, handle monetary transactions and understand what it takes for a business to run efficiently. I worked my way up through the business, from a host to a server, this gave me insight into all aspects of the service industry.

I also was a waitress at Goose Creek Pizzeria in West Chester, Pa. I started there after I already had experience in serving at The Classic Diner. I was used to help train new staff that came and taught them how to increase the restaurants revenue with selling techniques I had learned serving. I learned new things at this location as it was a different dining experience with different customers. The restaurant was extremely busy with outdoor seating and taught me how to stay composed under pressure.

Projects

Code of Ethics for Fox School of Business, Fall 2015:

I was lucky enough to be in the honors sections of the Ethics class offered at Temple University. In this class our focus was to create a code of ethics for our business school similar to the MBA Oath. We wanted to hold students and staff accountable at Temple since we will be held accountable in our jobs in the future. We spent time developing a survey that would help us see what issues students at Temple are having and how we can resolve these issues. We sampled the school’s student body and prepared a survey for them to anonymously take part in. We analyzed the data we received and produced  a document to be Temple’s Ethical Code. Unfortunately our project is stuck in Temple’s legal department to date. This project is where  I uncovered my love of analyzing data.

New Shoes, Fall 2015:

In my marketing class we had a project called New Shoes. Everyone in the class was assigned a group and were given a “shoe company”; the project is a virtual simulation of the shoe industry. The project was extremely hands on and dealt with every aspect of business. We learned how to budget, price items and do market research to make our companies more successful. The project was extremely analytical and gave us insight into how the retail industry works behind the scenes. Our group ended up coming in second place out of 9 teams.
