I am a member of the oldest sorority on Temple University’s campus, Phi Sigma Sigma, which has been on campus since 1926 and currently has 150 members. We are considered to be one of the top five chapters of Phi Sigma Sigma nationally. We also hold the highest GPA out of any Greek organization on campus. We strive to live by our motto “Aim High” and to be the best in everything that we do. I am also the Scholarship Chair and I have implemented a scholarship and academics program to encourage high achievement and academic excellence through the use of incentives and positive reinforcement. I live in the Phi Sigma Sigma house which is the only sorority house officially recognized on Temple’s Campus. Being a member of Phi Sigma Sigma has been the best experience of my time at Temple so far and I am completely in love with our organization and everything that we do. Our philanthropy is currently school and college readiness and we raise money through can shakes and fundraisers, such as our $1 grilled cheese fundraiser, to support local Philadelphia schools. We participate in many charity walks, such as the Light the Night walk in Philadelphia which raises money for the the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. I love being a part of an organization that is constantly giving back to the community and that encourages leadership through service. I couldn’t ask for a more supportive network of sisters who challenge me to be my best and to achieve my highest potential.
