Work Experience
This past summer, I was a hostess at Dukes Bar and Grille restaurant located next to the Susquehanna river of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Dukes Riverside Bar and Grille has a large outdoor deck and is locally known for being a popular summer restaurant choice and offering its specialty, the Crab Pretzel.
My duties last summer included:
- Maintaining a waiting list while quickly and efficiently seating guests in the indoor restaurant as well as the large outdoor riverside deck
- Strategically organizing the dining area to accommodate large parties of 10-20 guests
- Effectively utilizing an iPad restaurant seating system App
- Answering restaurant phone calls and effectively communicating with coworkers, kitchen, and restaurant staff
I earned valuable experience in customer relations and learning how to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
