Global SharePoint Intern at Campbell Soup Company

During the summer, I interned at Campbell Soup Company in Camden, NJ, where I was the Emerging Technology and SharePoint intern. I was responsible for provisioning SharePoint sites and holding design consultations with the customers. In addition, I helped build a SharePoint site, Dashboard site and ServiceNow site for the new cost saving initiative Campbell was undergoing. I also conducted an in depth analysis of an entire Fiscal Years worth of transactions, in order to see how best Campbell can increase its working capital. Throughout this experience I learned numerous important lessons, about both technologies and work life. First, I got a better understanding of how collaborative platforms, such as SharePoint, help increase the efficiency of a company. In addition, I learned that people are willing to try new technologies, some are even eager, however, if you are unable to provide helpful insight on how to operate the technology and the customer has to do a lot of self-learning, they will be turned off and not want to use the technology. Another thing I learned is that in order for you to be successful in your career, you need to go above and beyond what is expected. For instance, I constantly wanted to be involved in more projects and if it was not for me searching to find more work to do, I never would have been involved in the Campbell cost saving project and, therefore, never would have made as many positive connections as I did. Overall, this internship experience was a great learning opportunity for me.
