Driver
As a full-time student, I worked part-time as an Uber driver, which allowed me to develop practical skills such as time management, customer service, and financial planning. Beyond the driving experience itself, I leveraged this opportunity to enhance my academic growth by utilizing the data from my trips in my data visualization course.
For this project, I collected and organized key trip metrics, including timestamps, trip durations, distances, fares, and tips. Using tools such as Tableau and Excel, I created detailed visualizations to analyze patterns in my driving activity, such as peak travel times, profitability by trip length, and tipping behaviors. This hands-on project allowed me to connect real-world data to classroom learning, showcasing my ability to clean, analyze, and visualize data effectively.
This experience not only demonstrated my technical skills in data analytics and visualization but also highlighted my ability to think creatively and extract insights from unconventional datasets. It underscored the importance of using data to inform decisions and provided me with a deeper understanding of how to transform raw information into actionable insights.
