2015 Septa Design Challenge

This DESIGNchallenge was sponsored by the Center for Design + Innovation at Temple University’s Fox School of Business. This event was also partner with Philadelphia’s SEPTA. The challenge was held at the Kimmel Center’s Hamilton Garden on. There were over 140 students that register for this challenge from different school to work on creating a innovative idea within the theme of “Mass Transit, Car culture & Philadelphia’s Quality of Life.” At this event every person was randomize to sit at different group and to come up with the most innovative idea for the usage of public transportation. This event was very interesting due to the fact of innovation and design of something completely different with people of different traits that you had never met. This event created a working scenario where you had to work with different experts to create a new and innovative idea. As a MIS student, being at this event and working to created innovative idea is something that interests me the most. In the group you are working with, you are exchanging ideas that leads to possibly that could create the most creative way of using public transportation. At the end we present our idea to the sponsors and they choose to winner of the competition. I would highly recommend anyone with the interest of MIS professional to attend the next DESIGNchalennge, because of how much you would learn and network with different individuals.
