- Information Technology Intern – Rivers Casino Philadelphia
- In my role as an IT Intern at Rivers Casino Philadelphia, I troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues to ensure seamless operations and employee satisfaction. I contribute to system installation, configuration, and maintenance, streamlining workflows and enhancing efficiency. One significant project involved successfully implementing and configuring new computer systems for three different departments and working with outside vendors to ensure near 100% uptime for all systems involved. Additionally, I assist in the management of data storage, backups, and recovery processes to ensure data availability and reliability. Through continuous learning and hands-on experience, I am able to apply theoretical concepts to real-world scenarios, honing problem-solving skills and adaptability.
- Projects:
- Hardware Refresh – Completed a hardware refresh for 3 casino departments. I played a significant role in this project from start to finish, from creating a master plan for deployment of 60 new PCs, configuring PCs on the company’s network, coordinating install dates and times with each department and deployment of PCs to each workstation.
- Network Penetration Testing – Played an integral role in the completion of a remediation on the company’s network. For this project, I identified problematic devices and relevant information needed to solve issues with the device. I also assisted in modifying system configurations to align with best practices.
- Throughout my time at Rivers Casino Philadelphia, I have been involved in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of computer systems and many software applications. This is a critical skill needed to be successful as a MIS professional. Understanding how to streamline workflows and enhance efficiency through technology integration is essential in MIS roles.
