Math Classroom Assistant
“The Russell Conwell Learning Center (RCLC) is a comprehensive academic and learning center that enables students to maximize their university experience, achieve academic success, enhance or develop strong leadership skills and prepare for their future careers. The RCLC operates the Summer Bridge program to build the foundations skills of students under-prepared for college-level work. Students selected for this position have the opportunity to continue working in the Fall 14-Spring 15 academic year as RCLC tutors.”
Summer of 2014- 6 week program
- During the 6 week program, I assisted with teaching 2 math classes (Intro to Algebra and College Algebra) Monday-Friday
- I was responsible for 30 minute recitation following every class lecture
- During recitation, my Classroom Assistant partner and I reviewed and assigned homework, quizzes and exams
- Practiced additional problems for the day’s material
- I was also responsible for daily tutoring sessions (twice a day)
- Provided students additional help with homework and past material
- Prepared students for exams by providing them challenging practice problems
