Coporate action intern

I got the exceptional opportunity to fully immerse myself in a role that was closely related to Management Information during my time spent as a Corporate Actions Intern at SEI. Even though my official title was “Corporate Actions Intern,” the tasks I was assigned were all intended to improve how the corporation managed critical information.

Important Aspects of My Role

Data Aggregation and Analysis: One of my main duties was to compile, arrange, and examine information about corporate activities. This required methodically documenting stock splits, mergers, dividend payments, and other company transactions. In order to fulfill my job duties, I had to gather data as well as extract useful insights from it. These insights were then used to decision-making at both the operational and strategic levels. Management Reporting: I was given the responsibility of developing thorough management reports and educational dashboards. These reports played a crucial role in providing a snapshot of our company activities, allowing top management to make decisions that advanced the organization.
Process Enhancement: My responsibilities extended beyond data administration to include streamlining data-related procedures. I improved the effectiveness of the corporate actions department by reducing the procedures for data gathering, analysis, and reporting. Finding ways to use technology and automation to enhance data management was another aspect of this.
Cross-functional Collaboration was a key component of my role, as was having effective communication with other teams. I communicated often with coworkers from finance, risk management, and operations to guarantee smooth information flow and to coordinate our efforts to accomplish shared objectives.

When it came to problem-solving, I adopted a proactive stance. I quickly handled issues using data-driven insights, whether it was resolving inconsistencies in corporate action data or creating plans to reduce risks related to specific events.
My time spent working at SEI as a Corporate Actions Intern gave me priceless knowledge in the field of management information. It emphasized the value of data as a strategic asset and its critical function in guiding organizational decision-making. This internship was a key turning point in my career because it gave me abilities that are extremely transferable to a range of financial industry professions.
