New Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Cybersecurity Reporting Rules for Public Companies
The presentation was sponsored by ITACS and went over the new rules public companies need to follow for disclosing cybersecurity incidents and risk management strategy and governance. The presentation was given by Thu Nguyen a professor and academic advisor of the Temple’s ITACS program and board member of the ISACA organization. I learned the new rules that expand cybersecurity compliance obligations for public companies, registered investment advisers, investment companies, broker-dealers, and other entities, how these new rules affect these companies, and how to properly follow those rules in my future career.
