PMO Intern
- I assisted in financial and invoice management for the IT department direct and indirect spend for the summer and will continue to do so into the fall semester part time. I also helped project managers with action items, data collection and cleansing, usability testing of software implementation, implementation of a contract management system and lastly helped with ISP configuration, optimization and standardization.
- As follows:
- Telecom Expense Management Project – ISP optimization, cutting costs where we can and maximizing our usability from Verizon, AT&T, etc.
- Supply Chain Optimization – Helped in Kaizen sessions and utilize Six Sigma on how to standardize our data collection to implement standard pricing models
- IT Contract management system – Built out a contract system so we can easily locate and identify contracts if needed in pricing disputes.
- A/P Automation – An accounts payable automation software that is used to help with administrative costs, as well as optimizing our spend in other departments.
- I learned that overall harnessing and understanding how to communicate with people is extremely important. Communication is key in every business setting, regardless of what is asked of you. I also learned to be flexible because the team may need you to one thing one day and a completely different thing another day, so understanding this and being open to change is very important for personal and professional growth.
