Cybersecurity Professionals: The New Warfighters for National Security Webinar
I attended a webinar titled \’Cybersecurity Professionals: The New Warfighters for National Security\’, hosted by Rodney Newton. This webinar highlighted the role of IT Auditors in national security. To start off, Rodney Newton gave an overview of the current landscape of cybersecurity threats faced by governments and enterprises. Following that, he delved into various certifications, such as the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC), and accreditations available for organizations and individuals that qualify to work with government entities like the Department of Defense. Overall, the webinar was an enlightening experience, underscoring the crucial roles of compliance and standards in government-related cybersecurity work. This webinar discussed content I will touch upon in the future once I take the MIS course Managing Enterprise Cybersecurity. I was also able to learn the steps towards some certifications that will benefit me in a future cybersecurity career.
