Cloud Engineer

  1. Schwitzer Engineering Laboratories
  2. Cloud Engineering,
Cloud engineers are responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud-based infrastructures and services, utilizing their expertise in cloud computing platforms. They work to build scalable and reliable systems, provisioning virtual servers, configuring networking and storage resources, and optimizing performance and security. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, cloud engineers troubleshoot issues, automate processes, and optimize cloud environments, enabling organizations to leverage the benefits of cloud computing for enhanced scalability and flexibility of their IT systems.
  3. Examples of projects (e.g., list the projects you worked on and what you accomplished)
it was mainly server maintenance and understanding the hands-on approach for how cloud engineers operate in the workplace. However there were theory crafted solutions to hypothetical situations, such as data loss occurring due to accidental deletion or corruption or a security breach compromises sensitive data in the cloud.
  4. As an intern in a cloud engineering role, you would have the opportunity to learn various aspects of cloud computing. You would gain knowledge in setting up and configuring cloud infrastructure, including virtual machines, storage, and networking components. Additionally, you would learn about cloud service models such as Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS), and how to leverage them for different business requirements. Lastly, you would develop skills in cloud automation and scripting, using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation to provision and manage cloud resources efficiently.
