Information Technology Fundamentals (IBM Skills Build… not LinkedIn Learning)

In this learning module provided by IBM SkillsBuild, I was able to cover the history of computing and essential concepts about computer parts, network connections, hardware, software, computer security, and troubleshooting techniques. At the end of the module, I got hands-on practice troubleshooting a customer’s network issue, in a series of simulations, with a remote connectivity tool (a virtual machine).

As MIS majors we learn how to use technology to solve problems within an organization. What crossed my mind was while we work with technology on an interface, I wasn’t learning about the physical devices that we use everyday and how they help us do what we do. This lead me to taking this course module in hopes of building up my knowledge and understanding of IT so that I can better help the organizations that I work for.
