- Information about the organization – Amazon is a multinational technology and e-commerce company headquartered in Seattle, Washington, United States. It was founded by Jeff Bezos in 1994. It is 2nd largest company valued at $469.8B in revenue. I worked under AWS ProServe in the Global Services Deals Finance team.
- Job function – My team’s role is to correspond with business partners to determine if a deal is acceptable according to standards on a financial standpoint.
- Examples of projects – I was assigned to perform an intensive data analysis on historical deal finance data. The goal is to identify deals that generate the most profit and the potential risks/opportunities for bypasses. I also wrote a standard of procedure for future new hires on how to model deals in Excel.
- What you learned and how it relates to your major I was able to apply skills from Data Analytics class to this project. Especially how to extract and organize data and how to read data to draw conclusions from it.
