Cornell Tech Mentorship and Career Coaching
In the mentorship program, students will work closely with an industry mentor in a small group to engage in real-world case studies, skill-building simulations, and receive personalized feedback. Their mentor, a data science, ML or AI professional, will be by their side as they cultivate their authentic leadership and social capital and ensure that they are on track to land a summer internship and full-time employment. This program runs in Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 with a monthly commitment of ~4 hours/month.
Through these mentorship sessions, I was able to learn more about my mentor’s company, career progress, and role which helped me map out areas of focus for technical interviews, areas of career interest, and plans for career growth. It has also been inspiring to women in tech and leadership positions. She covered topics like salary negogiation, techniques for climbing the corporate ladder, and an encouragement of thought towards income streams outside of the traditional 9-5.
