The Weigh the Waste project undertaken by TU Sustainability at Morgan Dining Hall is a commendable initiative that aims to raise awareness about the issue of food waste and encourage people to take action to reduce it. By weighing the food waste generated at the dining hall over a two-week period, the team is able to determine the amount of food that is being wasted and identify areas where improvements can be made. Food waste is a significant problem in many parts of the world, and reducing it can have a positive impact on the environment and society. The Weigh the Waste project encouraged students to take action to reduce their own food waste. Some strategies for reducing food waste include planning meals carefully, taking only what is needed, storing food properly, and composting food scraps.
