Comcast – Product Management Internship
Summer of 2024, I interned at Comcast as part of the Media Analysis Framework (MAF) Team, where I worked on AI-driven projects to improve how people discover and interact with sports content. One of my biggest projects was contributing to the Emmy award-winning Catch-Up Highlights feature on Xfinity, which helps viewers jump straight to the most exciting moments of a game. My job was to watch and annotate basketball footage from the Olympics, marking key moments like dunks, buzzer-beaters, and big plays. These annotations helped train AI models to automatically create highlight reels, making it easier for fans to catch up on games.

Along with annotation, I also worked on AI model validation for the SportsLLM project, which focused on AI-generated sports commentary. My task was to review and rate AI-generated descriptions of basketball plays, making sure they were accurate and made sense. I labeled responses as Good, Okay, or Bad and provided feedback to improve the AI’s ability to describe the game naturally. This project showed me how AI is being used to enhance sports broadcasting.

This internship was a great learning experience because it connected directly to what I’ve studied in business and MIS courses like Data and Analytics. I got to apply problem-solving, critical thinking, and data analysis skills while working with engineers and product managers. It also helped me improve my communication and teamwork skills. Overall, this experience gave me a better understanding of how AI is transforming the sports and entertainment industry, and I’m excited to see where this technology goes in the future.
