Greater Philadelphia: 2022 Inspiring Across Generations (IAG) Conference: Belonging
The IAG event with Ascend was about why belonging in the workplace matters, and the need for new thinking in the world of D&I to create a truly inclusive workplace culture. The invited speakers talked about selling one’s expertise, reconceptualizing how career advancement looks like for AAPIs, and understanding mental health impacts when we don’t belong. I took away many great insights, and received a book called Selling Your Expertise by Robert Chen. I also met many amazing people and learned that I am not alone in the process of navigating the career journey.
I volunteered to facilitate the registration process for the event attendees. In addition, I helped with any additional supportive tasks such as setup and breakdown.
