Experience

CHUBB Insured:

Being an analyst requires high understanding of and insight into data set as well as the ability to correctly interpret data. I strengthened my data analytic skills during my internship as a Business Intelligence Intern at Chubb. In this role, my responsibility was to cleanse, transform, validate, and visualize data by utilizing business intelligence tools such as Qlik Sense and Power BI. One of the most important projects I worked on during this time was automating existing reports, which saved an average of 7 hours a month per colleague that was redirected to maximize workflow efficiency. While migrating reports, I also identified flaws in calculation logic in one of the reports and proposed new method of calculation that showed missing policies and millions of dollars. The correction was acknowledged by an AVP and put in the pipeline.

Class Project:

My previous experience and outcomes have developed the skills required to meet every expectation you might have for a business intelligence financial analyst. Analyzing and interpreting data are my strongest points. As an MIS student, I was given a group project to build a strategy that would attract and maintain new customers for a startup restaurant. I collected information from customers using surveys that were analyzed/tracked by using Google Analytics. My team worked 6 weeks on the project. As a result, the average number of daily reservations increased from 13 to 21 and daily revenue increased $1,200 to $1,800. These results demonstrate my ability to utilize the appropriate tools for the desired outcome.
