Commercial Lines Intern
- My overall role was to assist associates with client work, which includes both insurance carriers and companies purchasing insurance. This work included organizing and analyzing large amounts of data and communicating that data to associates. I also helped the head of IT with small IT-related tasks in preparation for an office move from Conshohocken to Media, PA. Lastly, I spent a significant amount of time learning the functionality of the company’s database, especially since it was slightly outdated, and teaching new hires how to use it.
- Loss Summaries and Renewal Surveys – organized and analyzed large amounts of insurance data and transformed that data into easy-to-understand reports
Creating proposal for a new client – learned how to sell to clients and work with large amounts of information
Database training and teaching – quickly learned the company database and taught the database to new hires.
IT work – Assisted employees with tech related issues as the company prepared for relocation
Certificate issuance – a large group project for over 200 clients that we completed under a short deadline
3. I learned how to analyze large amounts of data, which is a major focus of MIS and the Data Analytics class. I also learned how to work effectively and efficiently in a group, which is a focus of the BA class. Lastly, I learned how to communicate effectively with clients and carriers, which was a major focus of the Business Communication class.
