My Interests

When I was a freshman in high school, my father let me open an E-Trade account under his name as a birthday present. This account kickstarted my interest in financial management and investing and allowed me to learn about the stock market and the value of money at a young age. To supplement investing in stocks, I turned to my love for fashion and began buying and selling clothing, sneakers, and collectibles. This taught me the value of supply and demand, and also taught me how to effectively market the products so that there was a quick turnaround.

During my sophomore year at Temple, my interest in fashion evolved into starting my own clothing brand.  I started Broad Street Market with the intent focus on environmental change and reform. I donated a portion of all profits from my clothes to environmental nonprofits. Starting my own business taught me how to use e-commerce platforms, digitally market, build a website, manage inventory, manage financials, and learn graphic design. These skills came in handy when I took on the job of converting the brick-and-mortar store Giggles Gifts into an e-commerce store.

I am proud to say I utilized my quarantine well when the COVID-19 pandemic hit. I decided to indulge in my love for the environment and began researching issues, solutions, eco-friendly businesses, environmental products, and future industries pertaining to environment. This research brought me concrete, and I began researching and developing recycled glass-based concrete. I was lucky enough to meet with the leading recycled glass-based aggregate producer in the country, AeroAggregates. From this meeting, I learned just how much goes into a large scale operation and the difficulties that come with an environmentally progressive company.
