Capstone Project and Lessons Learned
During the course of MIS4596, Information Systems Integration, groups were responsible for creating a business case to solve a business problem. Our group consisted of Sara Monahan, Matt Leaver, Thompson Nguyen, and myself; as a team, we decided to approach the business problem of sedentary and unproductive workers in enterprises. There were several crucial takeaways from this project. I learned that working ahead on deliverables benefits the whole team and that time management is key when managing a large project. I also learned that group members all work differently and are always on different schedules. Working in a diverse group was a very good learning experience for me, especially wanting to pursue a career in management. Also, the presentation taught me how to sell a product rather than just informing the audience on the subject matter. Overall, Information Systems Integration taught me how to analyze situations as a whole and how every decision can impact a solution.
