Human Resources – Talent Acquisition Intern
Subaru of America is a subsidiary of Subaru Corporation, located in Camden, New Jersey. The company is a major player in the U.S. automotive industry, known for producing reliable, all-wheel-drive vehicles. With a large team (around 1,500 across the country), Subaru of America focuses on delivering quality cars and services. I am personally employed in the HR department as an intern!
My internship is actually a one year program that spans from May to May, so I still currently work closely with the Talent Acquisition team (within HR) to support various talent programs across the business. I assist with recruitment marketing, including content creation, social media scheduling, market research, and generating recruiting insights. Additionally, I help develop and execute employer branding campaigns that align with both short- and long-term hiring priorities, tracking and reporting on campaign results. Finally, I collaborate with the Talent Acquisition team to support process improvements and day-to-day tasks.
Project examples:
- Year-end viewership data presentation: I organized and cleaned company-wide data of viewership for one of our learning programs from two different sources, cross analyzed both sources, and created a compelling PowerPoint showcasing the viewer results and demographics of the year, popularity of each module/video, and more.
- Intern Alumni Newsletter: I designed and produced the first-ever Subaru intern alumni newsletter, where we keep in touch with our previous interns.
In this role, I apply both my HRM and MIS majors. From an HRM perspective, I gain hands-on experience with recruitment, employer branding, and talent programs. I also use my MIS-gained knowledge to analyze data, track campaign results, and optimize recruitment marketing strategies. This internship allows me to combine HR practices with technology to improve processes and support talent acquisition efforts.
