IBIT mentoring program with Craig Conway
I had the pleasure of participating this semester in the IBIT mentoring program, where Craig Conway was assigned as my mentor.
Craig has a background in the finance and technology industries, making him an exceptional mentor. We had the opportunity to speak about how the world is going to transform given the situation of the pandemic and how information technology will be key to the new forms of work and advances that will be seen in the world.
I also had the opportunity to speak with Craig about my upcoming internship at TD Bank. He helped me delve into anti-money laundering issues, such as the use of machine learning and artificial intelligence in the financial industry, and how this could optimize the minimization of false positives. Lastly, Craig recommended some skills that he considers important to develop while studying at Temple and even after I finish. He claims that having programming skills is always a good skill, but he specifically says that data analytics and artificial intelligence are the future.
